July-August, 2010 - Stuff the Bus
Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed in school. That is why 102.5 Mountain FM, Beach Transportation, Missoula Federal Credit Union, Western Montana Fair & Rodeo, and United Way of Missoula County are all LIVING UNITED to help Stuff the Bus in 2010. Please help us fill the bus with as many school supplies as we can collect. The supplies will be donated to United Way agencies dealing specifically with children: Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Flagship Program, Missoula Food Bank, the Poverello Center's Joseph Residence, Youth Homes, Watson Children's Shelter and WORD's Family BASICS for distribution to children in need throughout Missoula. The bus will be touring retail locations where school supplies can be purchased in Missoula. Visit our Stuff the Bus page for details!
July evenings with the Missoula Osprey
Come LIVE UNITED with United Way at Missoula Osprey games, July 16 and 30th. On the 16th, your support of the 50/50 raffle during the game will benefit United Way (thank you in advance!). On July 30th, our 2010 Campaign Chair, Shannon Flanagan, will throw out the first pitch at the Osprey game. Be among the first 750 fans and receive an Osprey baseball cap! Also on July 30th, you will be able to get a trim from a Great Clips stylist at the game, and all proceeds will support the critical work of United Way of Missoula County.

YWCA Salute to Women - May 13, 2010
We are so pleased to announce that our Chief Executive Officer, Susan Hay Patrick, will be honored at the YWCA's Salute to Women this year. Every day, Susan goes above and beyond to assist people in need. She is a magnet for help, always willing to give of her time, intellect, and most of all, heart. This year marks Susan Hay Patrick's 30th year in nonprofit leadership. Prior to being named Chief Executive Officer of United Way of Missoula County, she operated her own independent consulting business, working with nonprofit organizations in Missoula and nationwide. She previously served as executive director of a national foundation that supports hunger prevention and relief efforts; as deputy director of America's Second Harvest in Chicago (now called Feeding America); and as a lobbyist and fundraiser for the Food Research and Action Center in Washington, DC. Susan has served on local and national boards since the mid-1980s. She currently serves as president of Missoula Sunrise Rotary, and on the Governance Committee of Community Medical Center. She is playing a leadership role in Graduation Matters, an initiative by Missoula County Public Schools to achieve 100% graduation rates in our community. Please join us at this event to congratulate Susan for her successes!
